- CHARACTERS:
- MAHESH;
Mahesh (Jagath Manuwarna) is one of the play's most complex characters. Being abandoned by his mother, who departed to seek a better life, and by his father, who anxiously awaited Mahesh's achievement in the hopes that it would bring his mother back to better circumstances, he symbolises childhood pain. Concerns concering his intrinsic criminal nature are raised by his incarceration following his coerced murderous confession. It's unknown if he was born with a proclivity towards these behaviours or if his environment encouraged them, despite the fact that his mother genuinely wanted to get him out of that scenario. He is without a doubt the play's most complicated and challenging character to understanding the drama as a whole.
- JEEVANI;
Nadeesha Hemamali's portrayal of Jeewani draws attention to a subject that is rarely discussed in public. Jeevani gave up a more luxurious life to marry Mahesh and adapt to a new lifestyle. While Mahesh is abroad, Jeevani and the baby are left in the care of his friend Piyal, a young tuk-tuk driver portrayed by Randika Gunathilaka. However, this arrangement leads to the development of a close bond between Jeevani and Piyal. Despite the harsh judgement that society places on a married woman who commits adultery, this drama effectively analyses the urgent aspirations for security and happiness of young woman left behind by their marriages for a variety of reasons.
- ASELA;
Xavier Kanishka as the charater of Asela. He is an innocent young man who travelled to Colombo from a poor hamlet in search of a better life. He disciplines Gamini because he loves her sister. His personal is a representation of a kind, courteous, amiable, and trustworthy individual. Asela demonstrates how society can turn a kind and innocent mechanic into a criminal underworld thug. His terrible existence began when the manager of the plant accused him of stealing. However, it isn't true; he is an innocent youngster, not a thief. After this occurrence, he was placed in prison.
- PIYAL AND HIS FAMILY;
Piyal's mother and sister were family members. They own a modest home in a quiet neighbourhood close to Colombo. While his sister works in a factory, he drives tuk-tuks. She deceives Piyal. Piyal's sentiments are hurting greatly in that circumstance. As he genuinely loves her. When discussing Sriyani, the mother. She is a beautiful and resilent mother who gave her entire life to ensuring her children's survival without turning to other men for assistance. However, occasionally she tries to meet their wants through others. Nilanthi is a kind and friendly young woman.
- KALU AND SHANI;
The portrayal of Kalu in this drama by Nalin Lusena is very remarkable. The drama defined the stereotype of LGBTQIA+ persons that is typically presented in local productions, where their sexuality is humorously mocked. In the LGBTQIA+ community, Kalu played a vital role as a nonbinary person who addressed the challenges that arise throughout one's life journey.On one occasion, Kalu intervened to stop a man who was harassing her transgender coworker Shani from asking for sexual favours. Additionaly, he is amiable and helpful to those who are close to him. He provides assistance to Asela, her sister, and Nilanthi in various circumstances. He has a tendency to be sensitive as well as humorous at times.
